A Queenstown musician is in recovery mode at Dunedin Hospital following a brutal attack by Invercargill youths on the weekend.
Sam Ross, 31, had his jaw broken in two places after an unprovoked assault on the corner of Beach and Rees Streets about 2am on Saturday
Ross went into surgery at 9pm last night for several hours, his father Tony Ross says: “We got a call at 2am [Monday] to say that he was all good. So we’re just here now waiting for him to recover enough so we can take him home.”
Tony is unsure how long it will be before Sam is able to return to Queenstown.
It is believed four men were responsible for the attack.
