Art for Tessa’s sake

A group of 12 local women are doing their bit to help out a Down Syndrome toddler with leukaemia.

Queenstown’s Art Club is holding an exhibition on August 20 to raise money for Tessa Cowie (pictured), a 23-month-old girl from the Southland town of Otautau, who’s in Christchurch for the next six months receiving treatment.

Art Club involves the women buying a piece of art once a month – their entire private collection will be on display.

There’ll also be an auction of locally-supplied items. The one-night-only exhibition is at Belle Property, Steamer Wharf from 5.30pm.
