A Rose by any other name would be…less confusing.
Meet Queenstown’s three Rachel Roses: from left, the 37-year-old environmental health officer who’s been 11 years in town and celebrates a birthday tomorrow, the 42-year-old mother of three and part-time worker who’s mostly lived here since 1995 – and the 41-year-old mother of twin three-year-olds who arrived last December.
The latter two married into the name, but the trio also have a few other things in common. The first two mountain biked the Motatapu Icebreaker two years ago, the middle one has a dog called Ruby and the latter a daughter of the same name, and the first and third Rachel Roses are Librans.
The youngest Rachel Rose says doctors and dentists regularly get them mixed up and she was miffed to find a local store deleted her loyalty points by thinking she’d moved to one of her namesake’s addresses.
