It was a mixed bag for Queenstown skiers at this year’s Winter Games.
Star performer Alice Robinson had another stellar comp, earning three podium placings.
She took out both Super G races, and finished second in the Giant Slalom.
Up and comer Ruby Andrews also earned a placing at her first ever Winter Games, claiming second in the Freeski Slopestyle.
Andrews says she’s ”super stoked” with the result.
”I really wasn’t expecting it at all,” she says, pointing out the strong competition.
It was particularly special earning a podium finish at a local mountain, she says.
”I really like competing at Cardrona, it gives me a lot more confidence.”
The talented teen has a ”stacked” schedule from now on.
She’ll be training in New Zealand until the end of October, before jetting off to Austria for all of November.
Then she turns her eye to next year’s Youth Olympic Winter Games.
Meanwhile, breakout 2018 talent Blake Marshall wasn’t able to back-up last year’s shock Freeride World Qualifier win, finishing 14th in the event this year.
