Ain’t no mountain high enough

Experienced Queenstown climber Sally Ford looks on in amazement as one of the next generation of mountaineers takes a few tiny steps up a rock face.

Fourteen-month-old Amelie Dee looks every inch the part as she joins in at a National Bouldering Series event near Jack’s Point last Sunday.

The intrepid tot was snapped by local alpine instructor Chris Prudden, who says he’s “never seen anything like it” in his 30 years of climbing.

But during her bold ascent, fearless Amelie’s watchful dad Ian Dee was only an arm’s length away in case of any mishaps.
