$400K bank fraud accused ‘set up 16 fake accounts’


A Queenstown woman nabbed after a $400,000 bank rip-off is alleged to have set up 16 fictitious accounts.

Former ANZ Banker staff Jenna Lee Robinson, of Arthurs Point, was arrested last week – she was remanded without plea in Queenstown District Court this morning.

The 29-year-old faces six charges in relation to theft from ANZ, Queenstown.

Robinson  faces one charge of accessing a computer system - ANZ Bank’s - and dishonestly obtaining a benefit.
It’s alleged she set up 16 fictitious accounts with loan and overdraft facilities between August 16, 2010 and July 4, 2013.

Robinson faces another five charges of having control of property, totalling, $402,386.01, in circumstances she knew required her to account to ANZ Bank – and she intentionally failed to do so, committing theft.

Robinson’s next scheduled appearance is April 28. – Otago Daily Times
