Queenstown’s top four netball teams will jostle for prime final spots in last- round playoffs on Saturday.

The top teams all face each other. Premier team Chico’s/ABL face Pub on Wharf in their end of season match, while GR Concrete is fronting Wakatipu High A.

Regardless of the outcomes, the four teams have already secured their positions in the semis.

GR Concrete is on a winning streak and will go into the semi-finals a week on Saturday as top dogs if they beat the high school team this weekend, despite Concrete finishing bottom of the table in the first round.

Concrete defender Sarah Russell isn’t underestimating the opposition.

“They’re strong and fast. Being young and schoolkids, they’re very fit.”

Elsewhere, four Wakatipu rep netball teams fought Southland counterparts in the Southland Netball Tournament in Winton last Sunday.

The Year 8 squad was the only local team to rank in the competition, getting second-place. The regional representatives will be in Invercargill for another Southland tournament this Sunday.
