Bungy video: Kawarau Bungy Centre visitors watch ‘The Bungy Story’ on a new 16-screen TV wall
|
A 16-screen TV wall and 800-plus capacity events venue are new attractions at the Kawarau Bungy Centre at Gibbston.
The attractions – comprising stage one of the Bungy Centre upgrade – follow the removal of The Bungy Dome movie theatre from the centre of the AJ Hackett Bungy building.
Replacing the movie theatre is a 16-screen video wall, above a 7m by 3m stage, showing a new movie, The Bungy Story.
The removal of the dome has also doubled the usable floor space to 320sq m.
The centre now has the capacity to cater for more than 800 people for live bands, large-scale presentations, cocktail functions, parties, conferences, event and team-building exercises.
More than 350,000 people a year visit the Kawarau Bungy Centre, which hovers over the world’s first commercial bungy site on the historic Kawarau bridge.
The completion of stage one also prepares AJ Hackett Bungy for next year’s launch of the Kawarau Zipride.
