A Queenstown primary school book fair raised more than $26,000 in just four hours.

About 700 people turned out for the huge annual fundraiser at St Joseph's on Hallenstein Street earlier today (Sunday).

Fundraisers: St Joseph's pupils Marcus Anthony, 5, and Madie Reid, 9, sample the hit hot sugar donuts.
PTA co-chair Pauline Copland says: “It’s an amazing result – we’re very happy with that.

“We have such a combined fundraising effort between the books, the food, white elephant, and games the children put on in the kids’ zone.

“It’s our major fundraiser for the year. It goes towards the school, sport, leadership programmes and learning resources for the children.

“The community and our sponsors deserve a big thank you.”

Hot sugar donuts in the international food hall proved a hit, as did tackle bags signed by All Blacks stars Richie McCaw and Dan Carter, which were auctioned.
