Queenstown acts have joined ex-Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee in the line-up for local New Year’s Eve festival Earthtonz.
The Earthtonz organisers have announced Queenstown-based acts The Fletcherz, The Station Agents, Dub Side and Ghetto Blaster will be part of the December 30 line-up playing on a secondary stage. It kicks off at 2pm.

Main stage acts playing on December 31 include Crue and DJ Aero, The Crystal Method, British break-beat musicians The Freestylers, hip hopper DJ Muggs (ex-Cypress Hill and New Zealand’s own Minuit.

Earthtonz American partner Dan Allen says the Kiwi bands will bring another dimension.

“Extending the festival to include more NZ acts has provided both the opportunity for local bands to play alongside some of the world’s best electronica, drum n bass, dub step, hip-hop, progressive house and techno groups, while showcasing NZ’s rising talent in the pop, rock, reggae, funk and soul genre.”

Tickets for the festival, being held in Gibbston valley, are $149 – with a two-day camping pass costing $15. Tickets are being sold at i-Sites and Ticketek.
