Police have named the 62-year-old man who died in his car in Queenstown on Saturday night as Mike Holloway.
The former lawyer, who ran Queenstown software development firm AS Legal Systems, is believed to have suffered a heart attack.
Mike Holloway
Holloway was found at Shotover Gravel Pit, off Shotover Delta Road, at 8.30pm on Saturday. He was the sole occupant of a vehicle towing a trailer.
Two fire engines, St John Ambulance and police, including the serious crash unit from Invercargill, attended the scene. Police initially said the vehicle had veered off the road but have now confirmed it was a slow speed crash, likely caused by the medical condition.
Holloway, the husband of Queenstowner Jenni McBride, established AS Legal Systems in 2008. With its founder Ted Jordan, he streamlined the ActionStep software system for use by legal firms.
A funeral service will be held at City Impact Church in Frankton on Friday at 1.30pm.
Holloway's death has been excluded from the Labour Day weekend driving statistics because it was a medical issue.
Your say
Mike
A really great guy, who always had time to talk and cared about others, was someone you could always look up too. My thoughts are with Jenni.
