DQ vote: Phil Wilson
A lawyer and a winery boss have joined the Destination Queenstown board.

AWS Legal partner Phil Wilson was elected to the board at last Thursday’s annual general meeting.
Wilson – who’s also a former retailer and councillor – narrowly defeated Porter Group project consultant and legal advisor Karen Castiglione for a vacant service and retail sector seat.

Gibbston Valley Winery chief executive Greg Hunt was the sole nominee for the vacant general sector category seat.

The men replace board members Mark Simpson and Russell Gray who stepped down after five and three years, respectively.

The remaining board members are chairman Mark Quickfall, Lynne McVicar, Ann Cowan, Steve McLean, mayor Vanessa van Uden and incoming council boss Adam Feeley, who starts on October 23.
