International cricket stars Brendon McCullum and Muttiah Muralidharan (below) entertained about 3000 spectators at last Saturday’s Twenty/20 game in Queenstown.
Black Cap McCullum smacked four sixes in his 36 to help his Otago Volts run down Wellington Firebirds’ imposing 170 for 3 at a sun-drenched Events Centre.
The Firebirds total was anchored by Zimbabwean captain Brendan Taylor’s 101 not out.
Retired Sri Lankan Test and one-day international record wicket-taker Muralidharan was the pick of the Firebirds bowlers, taking 1 for 20 from his four overs.
The Volts’ win put them on top of the HRV Cup table.
