Running for Queenstown Lakes mayor

Age: 48

Occupation: Inspector programmer of roading

Family: Wife Lynley 37, son Matthew 24, daughter Lauren, 13
and son Ben, 11

Number of years in the Wakatipu: 11

Main claim to fame in the resort: Most locals listen to my daily radio road reports, been doing them for about five or six years

Main reason for standing: I’m a blue collar worker supporting my family from pay to pay, its not easy living in our area. I want to lead and support our hard-working residents into a brighter future

Single biggest issue: We all want value for money services provided by council. When services are contracted out we should be favouring our local businesses and giving them the work rather than contracts being awarded to out of town contactors. This way our community benefits from this with money being spent locally and helps to stabilise and grow our economy

Biggest gaffe: Being best man at my best friends immediate family only wedding, crawled under wedding cake table to take photos of the bride and groom cutting their cake and I farted really loud, luckily everyone found it hilarious
