Sir Bob Charles and Queenstown’s Jim Lapsley are among the big names competing in the 2011 Legends pro-am tournament at Kelvin Heights Golf course next month.
The first round of the South Island circuit – on February 23 – will see 40 professionals do battle for a $10,000 purse, with great prizes for the amateur team event as well.
Also playing is Peter Fowler (runner-up of the 2010 Australian PGA, and previous winner of the New Zealand and Australian Opens), Ossie Moore and David Good.
This year has also seen a number of entries from Canada including Ian Clarke, former Chairman of the Canadian PGA.
Jim Clelland, PGA national events manager, is delighted to be bringing the senior players back to the South Island and to iconic Queenstown for the second year in a row.
“Last year’s event at Kelvin Heights Golf Club was very memorable and we are thrilled about it returning there,” Clelland says.
