Two losses to their arch-rivals this season isn’t going to dampen Pub on Wharf’s semi-final hopes.

The Queenstown netballers will face veterans Chico’s/ABL at the Events Centre this Saturday – in a repeat of last year’s final, which Chico’s/ABL won.

On the past two occasions the teams have battled on court, Chico’s have walked away with at least a 15-goal win, but Pub on Wharf captain Sarah Russell thinks things could go her side’s way this time.

“For the first time all season, we’ll have our full top seven line-up. We’re feeling very confident and we know we can do it.”

Last week’s results:
Premiers: Pub on Wharf beat WHS Yr10A 62-30; Chico’s/ABL beat Harcourts 66-41; WHS A beat Cougar Security 65-25

Senior A: Executive Accom beat Glenorchy 53-31; WHS B beat WHS C 69-30

This Saturday’s draw
Premiers: 2pm Pub on Wharf v Chico’s/ABL; 3.30pm WHS A v WHS Yr10A

Senior A: 10.30am Executive Accom v WHS Yr9A; noon WHS B v Glenorchy

Chico’s/ABL will also have their top team back on board – seven players are fresh from a three-week “trip of a lifetime” watching the World Netball Championships in Singapore.

Chico’s/ABL defender Lisa Murphy says this weekend’s face-off “will be an epic”.

While core teammates were holidaying, Chico’s/ABL relinquished top position to Wakatipu High School A who
face fellow schoolgirls, fourth-ranked Yr10A, in the other semi-final.
