For parents at their wits’ end during the next fortnight of school holidays, fear not – skifields are at hand.
Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Cardrona all have school holiday ski and snowboard programmes to keep the kids entertained.

Coronet and The Remarkables are running the Kruiser Squad from Monday – a five-day development programme helping kids aged six-17 years improve their skills through technical classes, drill exercises and an optional freestyle session.

It’ll be held at The Remarkables again from October 5.

Cardrona’s holding a kids’ festival on September 30 with plenty of activities such as face painting, lolly scrambles, treasure hunts, a mini rail jam and music.

Cardrona’s also hosting the Junior Ski and Snowboard Nationals, beginning Tuesday.

Athletes under 19 years will be putting their bodies on the line in the giant slalom, slopestyle, halfpipe, gravity-cross and ski big mountain events.

If kids aren’t entering the competition, it’ll at least provide entertaining viewing. The nationals wind up on October 3.
