Queenstown/Wakatipu ward (six seats)

Age: 60

Job: Caterer

Family: Wife Ann, 54, two daughters – Catherine, 24, and Elizabeth, 22,

Years in the Wakatipu: Now into my 20th year

Main claim to fame in the resort: I have successfully lived, worked and raised a family in the Wakatipu

Main Reason for Standing: For the last 12 months I’ve been involved in the funding review of the Long Term Plan. I believe the work to be significant, as it affects everyone in the district and will determine our sustainable future. I would like the opportunity of finishing that work and presenting it to the community

Single biggest Issue: The Queenstown CBD Plan Change. This will be difficult and controversial but must be tackled if we are to ameliorate the effects of competing and ostensibly opposing interests and keep the CBD a safe, relevant and prosperous ‘front door’ for the district

Biggest Gaffe: Saying, during my first campaign, that I would like to unlock the economic benefits of Lake Wakatipu by delivering a Marina during my first term!
