Wakatipu netballers can sample a new variation of the game in this year’s twilight competition.

Teams are being mustered to play in the six-week series using Fastnet rules, which encourage a faster version of netball by allowing players to shoot from outside the circle.

The new version was introduced on the international circuit last year and the Silver Ferns won the inaugural world champs in Manchester, England last October.

Rules include rolling substitutions, less whistle time, two-point goals scored from outside the circle and seven-minute quarters, as opposed to the standard 15 minutes.

Entry is $100 per team and Registration closes tomorrow.

The series kicks off on February 18 and will be played from 6pm every Thursday outside at the Events Centre.
