Ice Blacks: Braden Lee and Brett Speirs

The New Zealand men’s ice hockey team has medalled for the first time in a division two world champs.
The Ice Blacks won silver after thrashing Mexico 5-0 in Melbourne on Sunday night.
It’s the first time they’ve ever beaten Mexico, who are ranked eight places above them.
Queenstowner Brett Speirs scored one of the Ice Blacks’ five goals and fellow local Braden Lee contributed two assists.
Lee was also named man of the match.
Australia won gold by beating higher-ranked Serbia 4-2 on Sunday and qualifying for division one.
Serbia had earlier beaten the Ice Blacks 6-4.
In their other games, the Ice Blacks beat Belgium, who also ranked above them, 5-0 and lost to Australia 2-0.
Other local players in the squad were Bert Haines, Jamie Moore-Carter and Mitchell Frear.
The Ice Blacks won the fair play award for giving up the fewest penalties.
