Rilean senior project manager Trevor Meikle (left), Queenstown Motor Group managing director Ken Cummings, Kenton Investments project director Pat Cummings and architect David Stringer get ready to celebrate completion of Southern Motor Group’s new car dealership’s Frankton showroom.
The four-month build of the multi-million dollar complex in Remarkables Park is drawing to a close and doors should be open before Christmas.
It will carry major new 4WD brands Audi, Volkswagen and Subaru plus near-new and used cars.
Queenstown Motor Group managing director Ken Cummings, the founder of Southern Motor Group, says the move reflects his belief in the region.
“It’s a very much more high-profile, client-friendly and larger site than our existing sister service site in the Glenda Drive industrial area.”
It will be the fifth Southern Motor Group dealership in the South Island.
New dealer principal Duncan Wright, who worked for 20 years in a European franchise dealership in Christchurch, is returning from overseas to run the new complex.
