Driven: Aussie street artist Steen Jones in front of his Cow Lane mural

A wise person once said if you choose a job you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life. Aussie street artist Steen Jones is the two-metre tall walking embodiment of that philosophy. He talks to Tracey Roxburgh about his career and putting his mark on Queenstown’s Cow Lane

It all started with a late-night fight.

When you ask Steen Jones how he went from being a carpenter to one of Aussie’s most highly-regarded, self-taught, street artists, he’s quick to respond: “TRIGGER!”

It’s not something he talks about, he says, but ultimately a bad decision when he was young has paved the way for a career he never even dreamed of.
