A Glenorchy show-jumping star has crossed the ditch to ride for a Gold Coast outfit.
Grace Percy’s moved to Australia to work and ride for Twin Peaks Equestrian, after a solid final season in New Zealand.
“I’d had an exciting opp-ortunity offered and I decided if I didn’t do it now it would never happen,” she tells Mountain Scene
“It was a really hard decision for me when I have a talented team of horses currently. So having to leave them in the paddock at home was really hard to walk away from.”
She’s hoping to bring some of her horses over to Australia so she can continue to compete on them.
That includes her top horse Kiwi Spirit, who she wants over there by the end of February for the prestigious Aquis Tour.
She rode both Kiwi Spirit and her other top horse, Sunny Disposition, to four titles at her final show in Dunedin.
“I have two very talented youngsters as well that are both very promising horses coming through,” she says.
As well as competing, Percy had been running her own business, Grace Percy Equestrian Services, in Glenorchy.
