Diary from Scot Mackay: It’s cold, I’m tired, I’m wet, and boy am I stoked. Today was amazing; we started the morning off by covering the bird man competition, chatting to some very cold and shriveled lads, then moved on up the mountain to Coronet Peak. We arrived just in time to launch into the Opening Party and to film a twenty snow gun salute, but for some reason it was too warm to make snow, and even while snow was already falling, how confused am I right now. Anyway, because of the lack of snow guns it was the perfect time to get footage of the snow-lovers at their best, hideous purple outfits and all. Now when I say hideous, I mean hideous, and that is coming from a guy from Gore, so you better believe me because Gore isn’t exactly known for its fashion sense.
Continuing on, while filming some amazing outfits I then spotted the Jim Beam promo girls, who I immediately fastened to either side of myself and followed their experience of trying to snowboard. This was by far the funniest part of the day, as with their limited time to try learn how to board, neither of them really got anywhere. One of them actually lost her board to the slope of the mountain, sending it scooting downwards between other boarders at an epic pace.
Following this I then laxed back to the tunes of Master Blasters, Midge Marsden, and Goodnight Nurse, while watching some drunken chicks doing their thing on the dance floor; now these are fond memories. Finally, I then topped off an epic day with a Fergburger, and what can I say, it was amazing! However, now I am about to crash and really just want the warmth of my own bed, ciao.
