Police would like to speak to this woman (left) who blatantly eyeballs a CCTV device around the time a Samsung digital camera was swiped from a Queenstown store.
“Pictures show the female walking off with a camera that another customer accidentally left on the counter at a sweet shop in Beach St,” constable Daniel Andrew says. “It happened about 7pm on March 26. The suspected offender clearly makes no attempt to hide.” Andrew adds: “The only thing that she’s missing is a name tag.”
A dunedin woman, 28, was charged with assaulting police after going berserk in The Mall at 12.30am last Sunday.

“She was arguing with her partner and trying to kick him,” constable Daniel Andrew says. “When police intervened she lost the plot and allegedly got a few kicks in there as well.”

At 12.40am the day before, a 20-year-old Queenstown man was charged with assault and his mate done for using threatening language after another male was attacked and verbally abused in Shotover Street.

Thieves ahoy

About $12,000 worth of equipment has been stolen from an Elliott 7 boat moored at Kelvin Heights Yacht Club.

Items including sails, winches and booms were reported missing last Saturday.

“The parts taken are distinctive and we would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about this,” Andrew says.

Cops also want to track traffic cones and road signage pinched from a Hensman Road worksite on April 7.

“These things wouldn’t be of much use to anyone, unless they perhaps owned a carpark,” Andrew observes.

Pickpocket on the prowl

A 57-year-old Frenchman was trespassed at SkyCity Casino at midnight last Thursday after staff suspected he was trying to pickpocket a customer.

“The guy was shown the door before any damage was done, but this is something people should perhaps watch for when they are out and about at night,” Andrew comments.
