Six Queenstown artists have their work displayed at the New Zealand Art Show in the cultural capital of Wellington this weekend.

Locals Sue and Spike Wademan, Emma Butler, Stuart Bateman, Simon Morrison-Deaker and Rachael Errington are among more than 500 artists from across the country chosen to display their work at the three-day exhibition.

The show, on today till Sunday, has about 3500 pieces of affordable art for sale priced up to $5000.

Sue, Butler and Errington have the honour of being in the 84 selected to have a single artist wall in the TSB Bank Arena.

To top it off, Errington’s work Sun Sets As Autumn Turns To Winter is one of 10 selected for the Signature Piece Art Award with a purse of $5000.

The winner is decided by public vote.

Spike, who has three paintings in the show, has previously sold a First World War battle scene, depicting the Red Baron, to Lord of the Rings film director Peter Jackson.
