The tantalising burlesque troupe entertained a packed house at SkyCity Casino last year and now returns with new show Peekaboo!
Showgirls Trixie Treat, Costa DeMillion and Berry are joined on stage by magician and MC Mr Lola Illusion.
Artistic director Ian Harman says: “We sold out last time in Queenstown – very quickly, it was the hottest ticket in town.
“It’s a great venue, really intimate, which is exciting for what we do. There’s lots of tease, lots of surprises, fun and laughter.”
The Palmerston North-based company has 11 performers on its books and has been touring annually since 2007.
“The burlesque stage is just so much fun in comparison to other types of performance, such as serious musicals,” Harman says.
“You really get to experience the audience with a burlesque show as a performer.
“We’ve been going for so long now – we have copious amounts of numbers and bits and pieces floating around from old shows.
“They’ll get restructured for new shows and from that a great new idea springs forth and we fall about laughing in the studio and decide to do that instead.
“Sometimes a terrible mistake in the studio will become a brilliant new routine. Lots of different things inspire us – we look at a lot of vintage Vogue magazines, old movies. It might be a piece of costuming that inspires a number or a funny situation.”
And Harman says the company would jump at the chance to perform more often in Queenstown.
Harman says: “We would love that to happen – love it.
“It would be amazing. We just have to convince the casino to hire us all the time or find some nice wealthy millionaire down there to open up a Queenstown boom boom room.”
