More than 100 skilled climbers will compete in this weekend’s inaugural Ice and Mix Festival in the mountains above Queenstown.
The best Kiwi and international climbers will tackle established and unclimbed winter routes at the event, organised by New Zealand Alpine Club.
Organiser Daniel Joll, who took this photo, says: “There will be awards for the hardest new route, hardest repeated route and NZ alpinist of the year.”
