Queestown Airport’s largest small plane, a 12-seater Cessna Caravan (right) now has a home.
Scenic and charter aviation company Air Milford has built a $250,000 hangar and revamped existing offices at Tex Smith Lane, beside its smaller former premises.
“When you’ve got a $2 million aeroplane, you want to park it inside,” says Air Milford owner Hank Sproull (above).
The 19m-wide, 24m-long hangar also has ample room for the company’s two smaller Cessnas. Sproull, who’s owned the company since 2000, bought the offices from the receivers of now-defunct company Alpine Choppers.
