Road smash: Queenstown's yellow litter bug in a crumpled heap on Frankton Road today after a collision this afternoon

Two drivers are in hospital after a nasty collision between Queenstown’s mini litter bug vehicle and a Fastway Couriers van today (Tuesday).

The driver of the Queenstown Lakes District Council’s litter bug suffered concussion in the smash on Frankton Road, police constable Terry Erceg said at the scene.

Both drivers were taken to Frankton’s Lakes District Hospital.

Erceg says the crash occurred at 3pm and left both vehicles splayed over the middle of the road.

Traffic was temporarily jammed up either side of the crash.
