These young local rugby heroes celebrate a stellar season after repelling Upper Clutha in their competition final last Saturday.

The Wakatipu Under-15 side beat their Wanaka-based rivals 17-12 at the Recreation Ground after fighting back from being 12-5 down at halftime.

“Their forward pack was quite a bit bigger than ours but our fitness was the main thing that won the game for us,” Wakatipu coach Kevin Rae says.

|The boys won 10 of their 11 Otago-wide division 2 games during the season, racking up 543 points with 141 points scored against them. They now head to the South Island Under-15 Co-educational Schools’ Rugby Tournament in Rangiora next week.
