Mountain Scene: Proud sponsor of Queenstown's Ulitmate Winter Party

In these days of newspaper ‘chains’ and radio ‘networks’, Queenstown’s Mountain Scene is proud to be the only locally-owned mass media outlet in the Wakatipu.
This local ownership gives Mountain Scene a stronger bond with the community and the newsweekly’s Community Sponsorship Support is the best evidence of that.
Since 1972, the newsweekly has devoted hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and/or space to Community Events, Sponsorships, Community Promotions and Good Causes.
The Mountain Scene Community Advertising Trust annually receives $25,000 of Advertising Space from Mountain Scene Ltd which an Independent Trustee then allocates to scores of Good Causes throughout the Wakatipu.
As well as sponsoring many smaller events, Mountain Scene also devotes financial resources and publicity muscle to major backing of selected big-league events.
Currently, the paper’s two highest-profile sponsorships are the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival and the Queenstown Business Awards.

Mountain Scene is proud to be a major sponsor of the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival, the only local media outlet to forge such a partnership.
A pledge of a substantial cash element backed by large-scale advertising and news space makes Mountain Scene an important contributor to the success of Winter Festival.

Queenstown Inc’s Big Night Out
Business plays a big part of Queenstown life - and Mountain Scene plays a big part in Queenstown business.
The most visible aspect of the Lead Read’s involvement on the local business scene is the newspaper’s sponsorship of the two-yearly Mountain Scene Business Excellence Awards, in association with the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce.
The awards had languished since the late 1990s until the newspaper’s major sponsorship breathed new life into them in November 2005.
