Queenstown kiteboarder Luke Porter streaks ahead of visiting thrillseeker Pablo Caceres near the resort’s One Mile Beach.
They were snapped on Lake Wakatipu during the Icebreaker Sail – the first club event of the season for the Southern Lakes Wind Riders Club two weeks back.
“It’s quite unusual for us to be able to sail so close to town,” club secretary Sue Bradley says.
“Normally we have to go at least 10 minutes out of town towards Glenorchy or Kingston to get good, consistent wind.”
