Flamin’ hell – it’s time for a sizzling drink

Queenstown bar boss Jason Clark will finally have the chance for a suntan after winning a trip to Rarotonga for his latest cocktail creation.

The Debajo owner won the trip after beating other New Zealand mixologists with his red-hot new tipple named The Flaming Nitro.

Clark’s recipe will now go in a cocktail book along with other competition winners from throughout the world.
His crazy concoction is based on an “old school” rum punch with a modern twist – the use of liquid nitrogen to cool down the pineapple after being singed by a blow torch.

“I’m turning into a bit of a bar geek,” Clark laughs. “I’m forever thinking about different ingredient combinations to make new drinks – I love this industry.”
